Exploration and Practice of Teaching Literature Course for Non-English Literature Majors in the Context of New Liberal Arts:A Case Study of English Short Stories
Being the innovative development of literal arts,New Liberal Arts emphasizes strategy,innovation,integration and development.Based on the background of the new liberal arts and from the perspective of reception aesthetics theory,taking the course of English Short Stories as an example,the author has explored and practiced the teaching reform of the literature course for non-English literature major students.In the reformed practice,taking the participating students'background of non-English literature as an advantage,the author investigated English short stories with the possibility of interdisciplinary integration,encouraged students to interpret them in multiple ways,and explored the teaching approach of integrating students'(i.e.,recipients)multi-disciplinary background with literary texts.The reformed practice shows that this teaching approach can not only broaden students'literary horizon and enhance their interdisciplinary problem-solving ability,but also promote students to think about their majors from a humanistic perspective,thus laying a foundation for their future comprehensive quality development.
