With the rapid development of the areca palm(Areca catechu L.)industry,problems including mixed provenance,low level of improved varieties,and chaos of seedling market have been increasingly prominent in the seedling industry,which has seriously restricted the healthy development of the areca palm industry from its origins.This paper firstly introduced the current situation of areca palm industry in Hainan Province,then analyzed the latest status of seedling production and management along with the problems existed in the areca palm seedling industry,and finally put forward targeted suggestions for industrial development.The aim of this paper was to provide aids for the healthy development of areca palm industry in Hainan Province.
