A Study on the Area and Carbon Fixation Capacity of Natural Rubber Forests in Qiongzhong,Hainan from 2000 to 2020
In the context of the "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality" goal, natural rubber forests,as artificial forests, grow vigorously.Rubber trees, litter, latex and understory vegetation can all form carbon pools, and their carbon sequestration capacity is much higher than that of tropical rainforests, other artificial forests and farmland at the same latitude. They occupy an important position in forestry carbon sinks, and their huge carbon sequestration benefits will become an important growth point for the carbon sequestration function of China's tropical forest ecosystem. This paper selected Qiongzhong Li and Miao Autonomous County,an important rubber planting area in central Hainan Province,as the research object, and used ArcMap 10.8 to analyze the spatiotemporal distribution characteristics of natural rubber forest area, changes in net primary productivity (NPP) values and the relationship between the two from 2000 to 2020 in the county. The results showed that within 20 years, the area and NPP value of natural rubber forests in Qiongzhong have shown an overall growth trend, but the carbon sequestration per unit area of rubber forests has shown a downward trend.Through this study, theoretical references could be provided for future work on carbon sink monitoring and value realization of natural rubber forests.
