GC-MS Analysis of Agarwood Produced by Different Methods in Huazhou City
In order to analyze the differences in chemical constituents of agarwood produced by different methods of whole-tree-induced agarwood,natural-induced agarwood and insect-induced agarwood, and evaluate their effects on agarwood production, this paper used ether ultrasonic extraction method to prepare ether extracts from three different agarwood samples, namely whole-tree-induced agarwood,natural-induced agarwood and insect-induced agarwood, collected from Pingding Town of Huazhou City, and then analyzed their chemical constituents and identification of the extracts by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS).The results indicated that the ether extract contents were between 4.51%and 14.23%,and the relative amounts of sesquiterpenoids and chromones were more than 70%in all the samples. In addition, the number of sesquiterpenoids ranged from 19 to 26,and the relative contents were more than 50%.The number of chromones ranged from 2 to 7,and the relative contents were between 2.09%and 27.93%.Compared to natural-induced and insect-induced agarwood, artificial induction technology for whole-tree-induced agarwood could obtain the higher quality.
