开放科学对新产品开发的影响:基于制药企业的实证研究

当前,世界科技强国正在积极探索开放科学促进创新的机制、路径与政策等关键问题.但是,创新前端"开放科学"与后端"新产品开发"有何关系,目前学术界关注甚少.现实中制药企业的开放科学行为异常活跃,那么开放科学对新产品开发会有影响吗?这是一个有趣的问题.以我国上市制药公司为样本,通过实证研究揭示了开放科学对新产品开发的内在作用机制.研究发现,开放科学作为企业新的竞争策略,对新产品开发具有显著的正向影响.具体表现为:(1)企业开放科学频率越高对新产品开发越具有积极影响;(2)企业开放科学质量越高对新产品开发越具有积极影响;(3)影响滞后期通常为3 年,即3 年之内影响效果最佳.研究结论为企业开放科学策略的选择、基础研究能力和国家创新体系效能的提升,提供了理论依据、管理与政策启示,对开放式创新理论进行了新的拓展.
Impact of Open Science on new product development:An empirical study based on pharmaceutical enterprises
Currently,the world's technological powers are actively exploring key issues such as mechanisms,paths,and policies for promoting innovation through Open Science.What is the relationship between the front end"Open Science"and the back end"Product development"for innovation process?At present,academic circles pay little attention to it.In reality,the Open Science behavior of pharmaceutical enterprises is extremely active,so will Open Science have an impact on Product development?This is an interesting question.Based on the sample of listed pharmaceutical companies in China,we reveal the internal mechanism of Open Science on Product development.This study finds that Open Science strategy has a significant positive impact on Product development,which is specifically shown as:(1)The higher the frequency of Open Science,the more positive the impact on Product development;(2)The higher the level of Open Science,the more positive the impact on Product development;(3)The lag time of the impact is usually three years,which means the best impact effect is within 3 years.We provide theoretical basis,management and policy implications for the choice of Open Science strategy,the improvement of basic research capabilities,and the effectiveness of national innovation systems.We expand the theory of open innovation.
