Does digital countryside construction affect farmer entrepreneurship?
The construction of digital countryside has not only reshaped farmers'production and life style, but also spawned new business models and entrepreneurial forms such as e-commerce and live broadcasting, showing a profound impact on farmers'entrepreneurship.Based on social cognitive theory, this paper studies the impact of digital rural construction on rural entrepreneurship and its mechanism using the county-level digital rural Index and China Family Panel Studies(CFPS).The results show that digital rural construction can promote farmers'entrepreneurship. It is more significant promoting effects on the eastern region, male, young and middle-aged and low digital literacy groups. But it has a hindering effect in the western region.Mechanism analysis finds that digital rural construction can improve rural entrepreneurship through resource effect and information effect. The conclusions of this paper provide empirical evidence for the specific impact of the government's vigorous promotion of the digital rural strategy on farmers, and find a new source of power for the implementation of"mass entrepreneurship and innovation"in rural areas to activate farmers'innovation and entrepreneurship. It also suggests that decision-making departments should adopt policies based on people and local conditions to promote the construction of digital villages by classification,in order to avoid the negative impact of"movement-style"and"one-size-fits-all"digital rural construction on farmers'entrepreneurship.
