Health output effect of government's multi-dimensional medical expenditure:Based on the dual perspective of health level and health gap
Playing the role of government investment incentives and strengthening the government's bottom-line responsibility is an important part of building a Healthy China.Based on the panel data of China Family Panel Survey(CFPS)from 2012 to 2020,this paper empirically tests the health promotion effect and health equity effect of government's multi-dimensional medical expenditure.The research found that the total government expenditure on health has a significant effect on health improvement,and the effect on physical health exceeds that on mental health;various government health expenditures through different channels to narrow the health gap among residents;government health expenditure is heterogeneous in household registration,region,age and income;the mechanism analysis results indicate that the impact of government medical expenditure on residents'health level and health gap is mainly achieved through channels such as disease prevention,disease burden,medical service utilization,and medical service supply.The research conclusions provide a policy basis for further improving the medical and health investment model and promoting the"Healthy China"strategy.
