Will High Requirements Lead to High Returns?The Nonlinear Influence of Leader Perfectionism on Employees'Innovative Behavior
How to use leadership characteristics to stimulate employees'innovative behavior has always been a hot topic in the field of enterprise management.Exploring the internal mechanism of leaders'perfectionism to stimulate employees'innovative behavior has important guiding value for the practice of enterprise management.Based on the self-regulation theory,this study collected the two-point matching questionnaire data of 108 leaders and 313 employees.Hierarchical regression analysis showed that leader perfectionism has an inverted U-shaped relationship with employees'situational promotion focus and innovative behavior;situational promotion focus plays a partial mediating role between leader perfectionism and employees'innovative behavior;self-leadership positively moderates the inverted U-shaped relationship between leader perfectionism and employees'innovative behavior.The results of this study provide useful enlightenment for enterprise leaders to grasp and adjust their perfectionism trait level,effectively exert the positive influence of situational promotion focus and stimulate employees'innovative behavior.
