Former Merlin,Three Armies Catching Up:The Influence of Visionary Leadership on Subordinates'Vision Support Behavior
Drawing on vision communication theory,this study delves into the impact of visionary leadership on subordinates'vision support behavior.A total of 164 leader-subordinate dyads were surveyed at three distinct time points.Employing path analysis and the bootstrapping method,we meticulously analyzed the gathered data.We found that visionary leadership positively related to subordinates'self-rated vision support behavior.Visionary leadership positively related to the subordinates'self-rated vision support behavior through the serial mediation of vision triggered positive affect and affective commitment to vision,and visionary leadership positively related to the subordinates'vision support behavior rated by leaders through the serial mediation of vision triggered positive affect and affective commitment to vision.In sum,our conclusions contribute to the existing body of knowledge on visionary leadership,offering valuable insights for organizations seeking to inspire and motivate their employees through visionary leadership strategies.
