Application of Relative Importance Analysis in Organizational Behavior Meta-Analysis:Current status,Problems and Suggestions
In the field of organizational behavior,meta-analysis researches usually involve the analysis of multivariate relationships, which leads to the inevitable need to specify the relative contribution of predictor to dependent variables.Relative importance analysis is conducted to identify predictors that contribute more to dependent variables or to demonstrate the research value of new constructs. However, based on the literature published in meta-analysis in the field of organizational behavior in the last decade, the study finds that many researchers fail to realize the impact of dependent variable types, relative importance analysis methods, sampling and measurement errors on the reliability of relative importance analysis results, which makes it difficult for meta-analysis researchers interested in this method to use standardized procedures to conduct relative importance analysis. Therefore, based on the application status of relative importance analysis in organizational behavior meta-analysis and real meta-analysis data, the study focuses on the principle, advantages, differences, applicable research problems and significance test procedure of relative weight analysis and dominance analysis, which can deal with the multicollinearity problem in the single dependent variable meta-analysis,and the expansion of the two methods in the multivariate dependent variable meta-analysis.In addition, the implementation procedure of relative importance analysis is provided, which provides a theoretical basis for meta-analysis researchers in the field of organizational management to carry out standardized and effective relative importance analysis.
