Effect of mare milk, donkey milk and camel milk on growth performance, immune index and antioxidant index of mice
This study aimed to investigate the effects of mare's milk, donkey's milk, and camel's milk on the growth, immunity, and antioxidant performance of mice.Thirty-two four-week-old mice were randomly divided into control group, mare milk group, donkey milk group, and camel milk group. Each group was orally administered 10 g/kg(body weight)of distilled water, mare milk, donkey milk,or camel milk daily ac-cording to body weight. On the 29th day,the mice were sacrificed, and liver tissue was collected to measure the immune and antioxidant indica-tors.The results show that compared to the control group, the average daily intake of the mare milk group and the camel milk group decreased sig-nificantly during 15~21 d and 22~28 d.The spleen index,interleukin-1β,and superoxide dismutase activity in the mare milk group increased sig-nificantly,while interleukin-6 and malondialdehyde concentration decreased significantly. In the donkey milk group, the spleen index, protein concentration, and superoxide dismutase activity increased significantly, while interleukin-6 and malondialdehyde concentration decreased signifi-cantly.In the camel milk group, the spleen index,interleukin-1β,protein concentration, and superoxide dismutase activity increased significantly, while malondialdehyde concentration decreased significantly.Gastric infusion of mare milk and camel milk can reduce the daily intake of mice.Feeding mare milk, donkey milk, and camel milk can improve the immune and antioxidant functions of mice.
