Characteristics of Borrelia burgdorferi infection in rodents
Lyme disease(LD)is a tick-borne zoonotic infectious disease caused by Borrelia burgdorferi, for which rodents are an important host.In recent years, with the rise of ecotourism, the chances of contact between humans and host animals have increased substantially, and the incidence of LD has similarly grown.Clarification of the pathogenic characteristics of LD and natural B.burgdorferi infection in rodents can help to assess the risk of LD in a population and predict the likelihood of disease occurrence, thus aiding the prevention and control of human LD.
