Isothermal amplification technology can amplify nucleic acids under constant temperature conditions.Because of its advantages, including low instrument dependence, high nucleic acid amplification efficiency, high sensitivity, simple opera-tion,and short detection time, this method is highly suitable for rapid detection in outdoor environments or epidemic sites. This article focuses on loop mediated isothermal amplification(LAMP),recombinase polymerase amplification(RPA),recom-binase aided amplification(RAA),and nucleic acid sequence dependent isothermal amplification(NASBA)isothermal amplifi-cation technologies. The principles and characteristics of helicase dependent isothermal amplification(HDA)and cross primer i-sothermal amplification(CPA),and their applications in the detection of respiratory viruses, are reviewed.
