Study on Influence of Leadership Empowerment on Career Growth of Grassroots Civil Servants
The behavioral style of public sector leaders has a significant influence on grassroots work,and how to effectively promote the career growth of grassroots civil servants is a topic of concern in public administration practice research.Based on the stress cognitive evaluation theory,a model is constructed to investigate the influence of leadership empowerment on the career growth of grassroots civil servants,which can effectively examine the mediating effect of psychological contracts and administrative motivation,as well as the moderating effect of colleague resources.Through study on and analysis of multi-time-point data from 265 grassroots civil servants,it is found that leadership empowerment has a significant positive influence on career growth of grassroots civil servants;psychological contracts and administrative motivation play a mediating role between leadership empowerment and career growth of grassroots civil servants respectively,and the two jointly play a chain mediating role.In addition,colleague resources moderate the influence of leadership empowerment on psychological contracts.With the support of high colleague resources,the positive influence of leadership empowerment on psychological contracts is more significant.The research results explain the mechanism by which leadership empowerment influences career growth,and can provide practical reference for the public sector to promote the career growth of grassroots civil servants.
