Influence of Work Pressure Perception of Civil Servants on Turnover Intention:Moderating Role of Public Service Motivation
In the process of national governance, civil servants,as executors of public policies, need to connect with the Party's policies and face the people directly.Their complex work environment and diverse interests determine that civil servants play a"versatile"role in society, facing high work requirements and pressure. This paper conducts a survey on six regions in the east, central, and western regions, collecting 565 data samples of civil servants.Based on the theories of public service motivation and social exchange,it explores the influence of work pressure perception of civil servants on turnover intention. The empirical results show that work pressure can positively predict the turnover intention of civil servants;job satisfaction and organizational commitment play a parallel mediating role, that is,work pressure influences the generation of turnover intention by influencing job satisfaction or organizational commitment;public service motivation plays a moderating role in the influence of work pressure on job satisfaction and organizational commitment, that is,when civil servants face certain work pressure, civil servants with high public service motivation can also suppress the decrease in their job satisfaction or organizational commitment. The above research enriches the empirical research results on work pressure, public service motivation, and turnover intention of civil servants at home, and is of great significance for the practice of human resource management in the public sector.
