Research on Growth Performance of Hybrid F1 of Holstein Modified by Fleckvieh
[Objective]To compare the developmental character advantages of the hybrid generation of Holstein modified Fleckvieh in the growth process, and to breed a new breed of cattle suitable for dairy farms for both milk and meat.[Method]The body weight and body size of hybrid F1 and Holstein young cattle from birth to 25 months of age were measured and compared.[Result]The growth and development of hybrid F1 cattle were faster than that of Holstein at different months of age,and the most significant was 20 months of age.Although the birth weight was 2.8 kg smaller, the body weight at 20 months of age was 76 kg more, the daily gain was 0.16 kg more, and the body oblique length, chest circumference, chest depth and caudal width were 13 cm,8 cm,2 cm and 2 cm longer, respectively. There was no difference in caudal length.[Conclusion]The growth and development of hybrid F1 cattle were better than Holstein in daily gain, body skew length, chest circumference, chest depth and caudal width, and had the advantages of fast growth and fast weight gain of Fleckvieh.
