Clinical Effect of Compound Chinese Herbal Medicine on Postpartum Paralysis of Dairy Cows
[Objective]In order to explore the clinical effect of compound Chinese herbal medicine on postpartum paralysis of dairy cows.[Method]40 cows with postpartum paralysis with similar body conditions were randomly divided into four groups.Compound Chinese herbal medicine low-dose group, compound Chinese herbal medicine medium-dose group and compound Chinese herbal medicine high-dose group were supplemented with 200 g/head,400 g/head and 800 g/head of compound Chinese herbal medicine in basic diet, respectively.Cows in the western medicine treatment group were injected with strychnine nitrate injection 10 mL/head,and 10 healthy cows were selected as the control group. The results showed that the effective rate of low, medium and high dose groups of compound Chinese herbal medicine for postpartum paralysis of dairy cows was 40%,60%and 90%,and the cure rate was 30%,50%and 70%,respectively,while the effective rate of western medicine treatment group was 50%and the cure rate was 30%.The results showed that the effect of low dose of compound Chinese herbal medicine on postpartum paralysis of dairy cows was similar to that of western medicine, and the effect of high dose of compound Chinese herbal medicine was better.Compared with the control group, the milk yield and 4%standard milk yield of cows in the low dose group of compound Chinese herbal medicine and the western medicine treatment group were significantly decreased(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference between the medium dose group of compound Chinese herbal medicine and the high dose group(P>0.05).The milk fat percentage and milk protein percentage in the western medicine treatment group were significantly decreased(P<0.05),the lactose percentage and somatic cell number of the milk in the low dose and Western medicine treatment groups were significantly decreased(P<0.05),and there was no significant difference between the medium and high dose groups of the compound Chinese herbs and the control group(P>0.05).Compared with the control group, the serum albumin, total protein and urea nitrogen in the low dose group of compound Chinese herbal medicine and the western medicine treatment group were significantly decreased(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference between the medium dose group and the high dose group of compound Chinese herbal medicine and the control group(P>0.05).[Conclusion]Compound Chinese herbal medicine has good therapeutic effect on postpartum paralysis of dairy cows, and the curative effect is positively correlated with the dose, and the curative effect of compound Chinese herbal medicine on postpartum paralysis of dairy cows is better than that of traditional western medicine.
