As one of the main nutrition sources for infants,China attach great importance to the production and supervision.With the improvement of infant formular milk powder quality,the potential risks that may exist had become the focus of attention.Perchlorate has caused widespread concern because of its inhibition of thyroid function,especially the influence on growth and development of infants.This paper introduced the characteristics,health risks and related assessments and limits of perchlorate.The situation of perchlorate pollution in China,US,EU and other countries and regions,as well as related supervision and assessment research were briefly introduced.It provided reference for the risk management of perchlorate pollution in infant formula milk powder and the improvement of milk powder quality in China.
