Based on in-depth interviews and participant observation, using women's bodily practices and symbolic capital as a research framework, this study starts with women's vaccination behaviors to interpret the action strategies and cultural motivations behind the phenomenon of the"vaccination fever"of the 9-valent HPV vaccine among young women in China. The study finds that receiving the 9-valent HPV vaccine is a proactive and planned initiative in sex by women, aimed at actively combating cancer fears, shedding disease stigma, and enhancing bodily consumption tastes.Through these bodily practices, young Chinese women are able to reshape sexual orders and moralities, strengthen individual preventive capabilities in response to risks, and showcase social status in the competition for scarce social resources. This process promotes the transformation of vaccine administration practices into personal symbolic capital, completing a micro process of constructing"empowerment"meanings through immune body construction.
