Observation and nursing of large dose methylprednisolone in the treatment of acute cervical spinal cord injury
Objective To investigate and analyze the observation and nursing measures of large dose methylprednisolone in the treatment of acute cervical spinal cord injury. Methods 60 patients with acute cervical spinal cord injury in Xiasha District, Zhejiang traditional chinese medicine hospital were selected as objects of study. The control group was received routine treatment and received dexamethasone and intravenous drip. The experimental group was given a large dose of methylprednisolone for shock treatment, and the corresponding nursing intervention, good health education work, attention to patient medication, prevention of complications, and actively communicate with patients and exchanges. The sensory and motor function scores and complications of the experimental group and the control group were compared and analyzed. Results After the corresponding nursing, the sensory and motor function scores of the experimental group (1.88±1.02) were significantly lower than (2.85±1.21) points of the control group with statistical difference (P<0.05). In the control group, three patients had heart rate disorder, four had insomnia, one had gastrointestinal reactions, one had respiratory tract infections, and one had gastric ulcers. The rate of complications in the control group was 33.3%, which was significantly higher than that (10.0%) in the experimental group, with statistical difference (P<0.05). Conclusion Large dose methylprednisolone in the treatment of acute cervical spinal cord injury and reasonable nursing intervention, the clinical efficacy of which is significant with high safety and low incidence of complications.
