Comparative analysis on the value of ultrasound guided transperineal puncture and transrectal puncture in the diagnosis of prostate cancer
Objective To compare the values of ultrasound guided transperineal puncture and transrectal puncture in the diagnosis of prostate cancer. Methods 160 cases with ultrasound guided prostate biopsy in Shaoxing central hospital from January 2015 to January 2017 were selected, these patients were divided into two groups according to the random number table methods, namely the transperineal puncture group (n=80) and the transrectal puncture group (n=80). The number of needle puncture, detection rates of prostate cancer, occurrences of complications in the two groups were statistically analyzed. Results The number of needle puncture in the transperineal puncture group was significantly more than that in the transrectal puncture group (P<0.05), but the difference of prostate cancer detection rates 40.0% (32/80), 55.0% (44/80) between the two groups was not statistically significant. In the perineal puncture group, 1 case was with fever, 7 cases hematuria, 2 cases urinary retention, the complication rate was 25.0% (20/80); in the rectal puncture group, 3 cases were with fever, 4 cases rectal bleeding, 3 cases hematuria, 2 cases urinary retention, the complication rate was 30.0% (24/80). The difference of incidences of complications between the two groups was not significant. Conclusion The diagnosis value of ultrasound guided transperineal puncture and transrectal puncture in diagnosis of prostate cancer is equivalent. The detection rates of the two methods was consistent. Compared with transrectal puncture, transperineal puncture will not have adverse effect on prostate cancer detection rate, and has lower false negative rate and better puncture.
