Analysis of the incidence and cause of abnormal ECG in normal pregnant women
Objective Investigated the incidence of abnormal electrocardiogram (ECG) in patients without organic heart disease, and analyzed the mechanism and clinical significance. Methods A retrospective analysis was done for 1036 pregnant women's ECG in the affiliated obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Fudan University during February and March of 2015. Results The abnormal ECG patients during pregnancy accounted for 25%. Among all the ECG abnormalities, sinus tachycardia was 16.31%, short PR interval was 3.57%, T-wave change was 1.93%, ST segment change was 0.68%, premature ventricular contraction and atrial premature beat were 1.16% and 0.58%, respectively. And they also included a few patients with sinus bradycardia and atrio-ventricular block. There are no significant differences for the distribution of the types of abnormal ECG for all ages. Conclusion There is a higher incidence of ECG abnormalities during pregnancy. The sinus tachycardia is the most common happened, followed by a short PR, T wave changes and ventricular premature beat, ST segment changes and atrial premature beat.
