Analysis of the body composition before and after treatment of MMI for female hyperthyreosis patient
Objective To explore the changes of body composition in female hyperthyreosis patient and to explore the influence and relevance of anti-thyroid drugs (ATD) on the body composition of patients. Methods 89 women with untreated hyperthyroidism was selected and their body composition data were measured and compared before and after treatment. At the same time compared with healthy people. Results The serum FT3 and FT4 in the hyperthyroidism group were significantly higher than that in the healthy group, but TSH was significantly decreased. After treatment with MMI, the FT3, FT4 levels were significantly lower. The sTSH, body weight, body fat, muscle mass, fat percentage were significantly increased compared with before treatment. There was no obvious change in the bone mass and body water weight. Conclusion This research could provide a theoretical basis for improving the patients' quality of life and feasible new treatment ideas for clinicians.
