Observation on the changes of peripheral blood parameters in single platelet donors of many times
Objective To analyze the changes of peripheral blood parameters in single platelet donors of many times. Methods A total of 215 blood samples were collected from Yiwu blood center from April 2014 to April 2017. There were 215 donors with 5 times and more donations, 208 donors with ten times and more donations, 185 donors with 15 times and more donations, 75 donors with 20 times and more donations, and 35 donors with 30 times and more donations. According to the times of donations, the statistics of the peripheral blood samples the first donation, the sixth donation, the 11th donation, the 16th donation, the 21st donation and the 31st donation were counted, and the parameters before the last donation were compared and analyzed. Results This study suggested that compared with before the first donation, there were significant difference in the donor blood MCV after the blood donation of 5 times; the blood donors of the WBC, PDW, MPV after donated platelet 10 times; the donor RBC, Hct, PLT after donated platelet 15 times, the donor Hb、Hct、MCV、WBC、PLT、MPV after donated platelet 20 times, and the donor Hb、Hct、MCV、WBC、PLT、MPV after donated platelet 30 times (P<0.05). The other indicators were not statistically significant. Conclusion Long-term donation of platelets could lead to reduce hematocrit, red blood cell mean volume, white blood cell count, platelet count, platelet mean volume and increase Hb, in physical examination these parameters should be paid attention to protect the health of blood donors.
