Effect of yeast cell wall polysaccharide added to diet on performance and Immunity of weaned piglets
In order to evaluate the effect of yeast cell wall (YCW)on the growth performance and immune response of weanling piglets,32 weaned piglets(21 days old)were randomly divided into 2 treatment groups with 4 replicates of 4 pigs in this experiment. The experimental group was fed based diet with yeast cell wall(0.1%),the control group was fed based diet. The experiment lasted for 28 d and the growth performance, diarrhea rate, serum biochemical indicators some immune parameters of piglets were measured. The results showed that the average daily feed intake(ADFI)and average daily gain(ADG)of weaned pigs fed yeast cell wall were basically the same as those of the control group(P > 0.05).However, the frequency of diarrhea in piglets fed yeast cell wall was reduced by 34.76%(P < 0.05)compared with the control group.Secondly, the humoral immunity index of piglets fed yeast cell wall was not significantly different from that in control group, but, serum IgM level was improved by 16.70 mg/L.In addition, the antibody levels of classical swine fever and blue-ear were trendly increased in piglets fed yeast cell wall(P>0.05).The above results showed that adding yeast cell wall to weaned piglets diet could effectively reduce piglet diarrhea rate and improve piglet immunity to a certain extent.
