The chemical composition and pharmacological action of Humulus Scandens,and its application in animal production
Humulus scandens(Lour)Merr,a traditional Chinese herbal medicine widely distributed in China,has rich medicinal value and good forage value.And such values become more prominent,especially in the context of the relative shortage of high-quality forage grasses and the total ban on antibiotics in the livestock industry in China.However,as the wild Humulus scandens grows fast and strong,and was often harmful to the growth of crops,it is often removed as a weed,resulting in a serious waste of resources.In recent years,researchers have begun to gradually apply Humulus scandens to the prevention and treatment of animal husbandry diseases,and its feeding value has also been gradually explored.In this paper,the research progress of chemical composition,pharmacological action and efficacy of Humulus scandens was reviewed,and its application in animal production was also further reviewed and expounded,aimed to provide some reference for the research and application of Humulus scandens as an unconventional feed resource and pure natural feed additive in the future.
