Effects of antimicrobial peptides on growth and metabolism of Micropterus salmoides
The diets supplemented with 0 mg/kg,50 mg/kg(D1 group),100 mg/kg(D2 group),150 mg/kg(D3 group)or 200 mg/kg(D4 group)antibacterial peptide respectively were fed with the Juvenile Micropterus salmoides[(12.49±0.2)g]for 8 weeks to investigate the effects of antibacterial peptide on growth and metabolism performance of the Micropterus salmoides. The growth performance, apparent digestibility of feed, fish body composition, nutrient metabolism and other related indicators of the fish were tested. The results indicated that:(1)In terms of growth and body composition, the weight gain of the fish in each group was higher than that of the control group, but the difference was not significant(P>0.05),compared with the control group, the dry matter digestibility of D4 group was significantly increased by 6.58%(P<0.05);The feed conversion rates of D3 and D4 groups were increased significantly by 9.4% and 10.8% respectively(P<0.05);There was no significant difference in crude protein, crude fat and crude ash of the whole fish in each group(P>0.05);(2)In terms of digestion and absorption, compared with the control group, the activities of Na+,K+-ATPase in the anterior intestine of D2 and D3 groups were significantly increased by 32.35%and 39.04%respectively(P<0.05),the activities of alkaline phosphatase in the anterior intestine of D2 and D3 groups were significantly increased by 12.09%and 10.05%respectively(P<0.05),the activities of lysozyme in the liver of D2 and D3 groups were significantly increased by 11.81%and 10.9%respectively(P<0.05),and the activity of lipase in the anterior intestine of D3 group was significantly increased by 12.62%(P<0.05);(3)In terms of protein metabolism, compared with the control group, the total protein in serum of D3 and D4 groups were significantly increased by 19.53%and 18.7%respectively(P<0.05),the protein efficiencies of D3 and D4 groups were significantly increased by 10.31%and 10.82%respectively(P<0.05),and the AST activity in liver of D4 group was significantly increased by 22.49%(P<0.05);(4)In terms of lipid metabolism, the total cholesterol content in serum of D4 group was significantly lower than that of the control group by 18.76%(P<0.05).In general, the feed conversion rate, protein deposition, and the immunity of the fish could be improved by adding antimicrobial peptide to the diet of Micropterus salmoides. The effect would be better when the supplement amount of antimicrobial peptide was 150 mg/kg.
