Effects of adding different proportions of okra straw to diets on growth performance, blood biochemical indexes and cecal flora structure of meat rabbits
The aim was to study the effects of adding different proportions of okra straw to the diet on the growth performance, blood biochemical indexes and cecum flora structure of rabbits.80 weaned rabbits of similar weight, half male and half female, were randomly divided into 4 groups of 5 replicates each, with 4 rabbits in each replicate. The control group was fed the basic diet, and the experimental groups(4%group,6%group and 8% group)were fed diets containing 4%,6% and 8% okra straw, respectively, the pre-test period lasted for 7 days, and the experimental period lasted for 30 days. The results showed that:(1)Compared with the control group, the addition of 4%,6% and 8% okra straw to the diet could significantly reduce the mortality rate of weaned rabbits and improve the diarrhea of weaned rabbits, with the 4% group having the best effect.(2)The total cholesterol of weaned rabbits with 4%added group was significantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.05),and the total cholesterol content in the other test groups was reduced, but the difference was not significant(P>0.05);Total bilirubin, creatinine and urea in the blood of rabbits in all test groups were reduced to different degrees, but none of the differences were significant(P>0.05);Aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase were increased to some extent, and the differences were not significant(P>0.05).(3)On the alpha index,Chao1 index,6%added group was significantly lower than control group,4%group and 8%group(P<0.05),Shannon index and Simpson index, the differences among the 4 groups were not significant(P>0.05);At the level of phylum and genus, different additions of okra straw had no significant effect on the dominant genus and dominant phylum(P>0.05),but the addition of 8%of okra straw could increase the relative abundance of Firmicutes,Bacteroidetes,Ruminococcus and Oscillospira and reduce the relative abundance of Proteobacteria. It could be seen that the addition of 4%okra straw in the diet of rabbits had a certain regulatory effect on the liver and kidney function of rabbits, and could significantly reduce the mortality rate of rabbits in the process of growth, and the addition of 8%okra straw could increase the relative abundance of some dominant bacterial groups and reduce the abundance of harmful bacterial groups.
