In animal production,Astragalus membranaceus can improve its growth performance and antioxidant capacity,act as an antioxidant to eliminate free radicals,enhance the body's immunity and disease resistance.And as feed additives and enhancers,Astragalus membranaceus and its active ingredients have advantages such as no residue,no pollution,and green efficiency.This article reviews the active ingredients and biological functions of Astragalus membranaceus,and its application as an important Chinese herbal feed additive in animal production and disease prevention and control,aiming to provide reference for the development of Astragalus membranaceus resources and its rational application in animal feed.
