Effects of compound acidifier on growth performance, nutrient utilization efficiency, and intestinal tissue morphology of weaned piglets
This experiment aims to investigate the effects of Compound Acidifier(CA)on the growth performance, nutrient utilization efficiency, and intestinal tissue morphology of weaned piglets.120 healthy,disease-free,and similar initial weight[(8.36±0.49)kg]ternary hybrid piglets were selected and randomly divided into 4 groups, with 6 replicates in each group and 5 piglets in each replicate.Among them, the control group(CON group)was fed a corn soybean meal based diet in accordance with the"Pig Feeding Standards"(NY/T 65-2004),while the other three groups were fed a basic diet of+2 kg/t(CA2 group),4 kg/t(CA4 group),and 6 kg/t(CA6 group)with a compound acidifier. The experimental period was 35 days. The results showed that:(1)The final weight and average daily gain of piglets in the CA2,CA4,and CA6 groups were significantly higher than those in the CON group(P<0.05),while the feed weight ratio and diarrhea rate of piglets in the CA2,CA4,and CA6 groups were significantly lower than those in the CON group(P<0.05);(2)Compared with the CON group, the utilization rates of total energy and crude fiber in CA2 group piglets were significantly increased(P<0.05).Compared with the CON group, the utilization rates of crude protein and organic matter in CA2,CA4,and CA6 groups piglets were significantly increased(P<0.05);(3)In the duodenum, the villus height and villus to crypt ratio of the CA2,CA4,and CA6 groups were significantly higher than those of the CON group(P<0.05),while in the jejunum, the villus height and villus to crypt ratio of the CA2,CA4,and CA6 groups were significantly higher than those of the CON group(P<0.05).In summary, compound acidifier can promote the growth and development of piglets, improve nutrient utilization efficiency, and improve intestinal tissue morphology. To reduce feeding costs, the recommended amount of compound acidifier added to the basic diet of piglets is 2 kg/t.
