Effects of fermented soybean meal on growth performance, antioxidant and immune function of broilers
This experiment was conducted to explore the effects of fermented soybean meal(FSM)on the growth performance, antioxidant and immune function of broilers.Method:320 1-day old broiler chickens were selected and randomly divided into 4 groups, with 4 replicates in each group, with 20 replicates per replicate. The control group was fed a basic diet, designated as the FSM0 group, while the other three groups were replaced with 10%,20%,and 30%fermented soybean meal as the experimental diet, designated as the FSM10 group,FSM20 group, and FSM30 group. The experiment lasted for 21 days, during which each group of broilers freely fed and adopted the same feeding and management methods. The results showed that,(1)Compared with the FSM0 group, the final weight of broilers in the FSM20 and FSM30 groups significantly increased by 7.11%and 6.70%(P<0.05);Compared with the FSM0 group, the average daily gain of broilers in the FSM20 and FSM30 groups significantly increased by 7.65%and 7.21%(P<0.05);Compared with the FSM0 group, the feed to weight ratio of broilers in the FSM20 and FSM30 groups significantly decreased by 10.43%and 9.20%(P<0.05);(2)The total antioxidant capacity and total superoxide dismutase in the serum of FSM20 and FSM30 groups of broilers were significantly higher than those of FSM0 group(P<0.05),the glutathione peroxidase in the serum of FSM30 group of broilers was significantly higher than that of FSM0 and FSM10 groups(P<0.05),and the malondialdehyde in the serum of FSM0 and FSM10 groups of broilers was significantly higher than that of FSM20 and FSM30 groups(P<0.05);(3)The serum levels of immunoglobulin A in the FSM20 and FSM30 groups were significantly higher than those in the FSM0 group(P<0.05),while the serum levels of immunoglobulin M in the FSM10,FSM20,and FSM30 groups were significantly higher than those in the FSM0 group(P<0.05).The serum levels of complement C4 in the FSM20 and FSM30 groups were significantly higher than those in the FSM0 and FSM10 groups(P<0.05).Conclusion:Replacing soybean meal with 20%and 30%fermented soybean meal can improve the growth performance, antioxidant and immune functions of broilers.Considering feed costs, the optimal replacement ratio for fermented soybean meal in the basic diet is 20%.
