Study on feeding effect of Shengxuebao mixture drug residue on New Zealand rabbits
In this study, the ingredients of Shengxuebao mixture drug residue(SXBR)were characterized from two aspects:nutrients and pharmaceutical active ingredients. Then New Zealand rabbits were divided into four groups randomly. Then added 0%(SXBRc),5%(SXBRl),10%(SXBRm),and 20%(SXBRh)of SXBR to the basic diet of New Zealand rabbits to investigate the production performance, antioxidant stress function, bone marrow hematopoietic function and intestinal flora of New Zealand rabbits, and characterize its potential toxicity. The results showed that SXBR was rich in carbohydrate, crude fat and other nutrients, and contained a large number of triterpenoids, flavonoids and other active ingredients.Compared with the SXBRc,the body weight gain of the SXBRh was increased by more than 60%on the 44th,54th and 57th days, and the feed conversion ratio was decreased by 43.85%within 60 days. Moreover, the slaughter rate of each SXBR addition group was increased by more than 6%compared to the SXBRc.The differences in the above results were statistically significant(P<0.05),indicating good production performance of SXBR.The serum superoxide dismutase(SOD)activity of the SXBRh was significantly increased by 91.70%(P=0.003)compared to the SXBRc,and the malondialdehyde(MDA)content was significantly reduced by 80.62%(P=0.010).In addition,SXBR could inhibit bone marrow cell apoptosis, improve the structure of intestinal microbiota, and had good safety. It could be seen that the SXBR was a good raw material for the production of forage for herbivores and could also be developed as a feed additive for anti-oxidative stress, regulating intestinal microecology and promoting growth. This study had practical significance for realizing the feed application of SXBR and promoting the recycling of traditional Chinese medicine residue.
