Effects of adding Boluohui San in the diet on growth performance, serum biochemical indices, intestinal morphology and tissue residues of Taihe silky fowls
This experiment was conducted to study the effects of dietary Boluohui San on growth performance, slaughter performance, organ coefficient, serum biochemical indices, intestinal morphology and residues of sanguinarine and chelerythrine in tissues of Taihe silky fowls.A total of 200 healthy 1-day-old Taihe silky fowls with similar body weight were randomly divided into 2 groups with 10 replicates per group and 10 chickens per replicate. The control group were fed a basal diet without antibiotics, and Boluohui San group were fed the basal diet supplemented with 500 mg/kg Boluohui San.The experiment lasted for 56 days. The results showed as follows:(l)Compared with the control group, the addition of Bolusan in the diet significantly increased the average daily weight gain and the end weight of the test in Taihe silky fowls by 6.00%and 9.72%respectively(P<0.05),and significantly reduced the feed-to-weight ratio by 5.29%(P<0.05).(2)Compared with the control group, the addition of Boluohui San in the diet significantly reduced the content of blood urea nitrogen(BUN)of Taihe silky fowls by 22.06%(P<0.05).(3)Compared with the control group, the addition of Boluohui San in the diet significantly reduced villus hight to crypt depth ratio of the duodenum of Taihe silky fowls by 20.41%(P<0.05).(4)After the experiment,no residual sanguinarine and chelidonine were detected in heart, liver, spleen, kidney, chest muscle, leg muscle, skin and adipose tissue of Taihe silky fowls(Below the detection limit of 2 μg/L and 0.5 μg/L),using ultra performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(UPLC-MS/MS).In conclusion, basal diets supplemented with 500 mg/kg Boluohui San could improve growth performance, decrease BUN content, and improve the small intestinal morphology of Taihe silky fowls, and there was no risk of tissue residue.
