The effect of motherwort powder feed additive on production performance, serum immunity, and antioxidant performance of laying hens
This experiment aims to investigate the effects of motherwort powder on the production performance, serum immunity, and antioxidant performance of laying hens.Select 60040 week old Hailan brown shell laying hens with similar body weight and egg laying rate, and randomly divide them into 4 groups, with 5 replicates in each group, with 30 replicates per replicate.During the experiment, the control group was fed a basic diet according to the laying hens nutrition standard(NRC),while the other three groups were fed a basic diet of+1 g/kg,2 g/kg,and 3 g/kg of motherwort powder. The experiment lasted for 30 days. The results showed that:(1)Compared with the control group, the egg production rate of the 2 g/kg motherwort powder group significantly increased by 9.22%(P<0.05),the 2 g/kg motherwort powder group significantly reduced the feed to egg ratio by 14.75%(P<0.05),the egg breaking rate of the 1,2 and 3 g/kg motherwort powder groups significantly decreased by 37.95%,42.66%,and 40.44%(P<0.05).(2)Compared with the control group, the serum immunoglobulin A content in the 2 and 3 g/kg motherwort powder groups significantly increased by 60.48%and 65.26%(P<0.05),the serum immunoglobulin G content in the 3 g/kg motherwort powder group significantly increased by 34.99%(P<0.05),the serum immunoglobulin M content in the 3 g/kg motherwort powder group significantly increased by 62.74%(P<0.05).(3)Compared with the control group, the serum total antioxidant capacity of the 3 g/kg motherwort powder group was significantly increased by 40.50%(P<0.05),the serum malondialdehyde content in the 2 and 3 g/kg motherwort powder groups significantly decreased by 21.42%and 22.78%(P<0.05).Conclusion:Basic diet+2 g/kg motherwort powder can improve the production performance of laying hens; The basic diet of+3 g/kg motherwort powder can improve the serum immunity and antioxidant performance of laying hens.
