Effects of different planting densities on the growth, yield, and economic benefits of silage maize
To study the effects of different planting densities on the growth, yield, and economic benefits of silage corn, and to provide data reference for the promotion and planting of silage corn.Select Longqing No.2 silage Corn, which is suitable for local cultivation in Gansu, for silage corn.Under the same water and fertilizer management conditions, set low(6.75×104 plants/hm2),medium(7.50×104 plants/hm2),height(8.25×104 plants/hm2)were planted in three density groups, and the growth, yield, and economic benefits of silage corn(from late milk ripening to early wax ripening)were measured using a plot sampling method. The results showed that,(1)With the increase of planting density, the average plant height and average leaf number of silage corn showed a decreasing trend(P<0.10),compared to the low planting density group(6.75×104 plants/hm2),the high planting density group(8.25×104 plants/hm2).The average ear height and lodging rate of silage corn increased by 3.00%and 57.06%(P<0.05),while the average stem diameter decreased by 12.19%(P<0.05).(2)There was no significant difference in yield indicators of silage corn among different planting densities(P>0.05).(3)In terms of economic benefits, the gross profit of silage corn in the low, medium, and high planting density groups was 51898.77 yuan/hm2,56723.45 yuan/hm2,and 56497.11 yuan/hm2,respectively.Conclusion:By comprehensively comparing various indicators, the suitable planting density for Longqing No.2 silage Corn is 7.50×104 plants/hm2.
