Effects of supplemental Hermetia illucens and spirulina in diets on immunity function in kittens
In order to explore the effects of daily ration supplemented with Hermetia illucens and spirulina on the growth and immunity function of kittens.18 healthy,45~60-day-old weaned rural kittens with similar weight were randomly divided into control group(fed with an imported brand of kitten food),experiment group(fed with cat food based on blank control group formula, supplemented with Hermetia illucens and spirulina)and blank control group(fed with basic formula cat food)for test 24 days. The results showed that compared with the other two groups, kittens in the experimental group gained more weight, and the excrementitious shapes were better. The antibody levels of feline calicivirus(FCV),feline parvovirus(FPV)and feline herpesvirus(FHV)were higher. The antioxidant capacity and immune function were stronger, with significant increases in immune indicators such as immunoglobulin levels and interleukin-2,and a significant improvement in total antioxidant capacity; In addition, the differences in the levels of metabolites theasapogenol A and ursolic acid in the serum further suggested the improved immune function and antioxidant capacity of the experimental group's kittens. In conclusion, daily ration supplemented with Hermetia illucens and spirulina could promote the growth and improve the immunity function of kittens.
