Effects of xylanase on growth performance, serum biochemical indicators and intestinal morphology in finishing pigs
The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of adding xylanase to the diet on the growth performance, serum biochemical indicators, and intestinal morphology of finishing pigs.120 ternary finishing pigs with an average weight of(61±0.71)kg were randomly divided into 4 groups, each with 5 replicates and 6 pigs per replicate. The basic diet is a corn soybean meal type diet, with 0,200,400,and 800 mg/kg of xylanase added to the basic diet as the experimental diet. The experimental results showed that adding xylanase to the diet significantly increased the final body weight of finishing pigs(P<0.05),and adding 400 and 800 mg/kg xylanase to the diet significantly increased the average daily gain of finishing pigs(P<0.05);Adding 800 mg/kg xylanase to the diet significantly reduced the feed to weight ratio of fattening pigs(P<0.05).In addition, adding xylanase to the diet had no significant effect on the average daily feed intake of finishing pigs(P>0.05).Adding 400 mg/kg xylanase to the diet significantly increased the serum albumin, globulin, and total protein content of finishing pigs(P<0.05);Adding 800 mg/kg xylanase to the diet significantly reduced the serum urea nitrogen content of finishing pigs(P<0.05);The addition of xylanase to the diet did not significantly affect the serum levels of glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase, alanine transaminase, alkaline phosphatase, triglycerides, and total cholesterol in finishing pigs(P>0.05).Adding xylanase to feed significantly increased the height and V/C value of duodenal and ileal villi in fattening pigs(P<0.05);In addition, the addition of xylanase to the diet did not significantly affect the depth of crypts in the duodenum, jejunum, and ileum of fattening pigs(P>0.05).In summary, the results of this experiment indicate that the optimal amount of xylanase added to the diet of fattening pigs is 800 mg/kg.
