Effects of compound chemical treatment of rice straw on growth performance and nutrient apparent digestibility of meat sheep
The effects of compound chemical treatment of rice straw on growth performance and nutrient apparent digestibility of meat sheep were investigated.A total of 156 healthy meat sheep with similar body weight were randomly selected from large-scale meat sheep farms and randomly divided into control group,T1,T2 and T3 groups with 3 replicates in each group and 13 sheep in each replicate. Each group was fed the same nutrient diet, the control group was fed untreated rice straw,T1 was fed alkaline treated rice straw, and T2 was fed ammoniated rice straw.T3 was fed with alkaline and ammoniated rice straw, and the feeding cycle was 30 days. The results showed as follows:(1)Growth performance:The final weight, average daily gain and average daily feed intake of meat sheep in T1,T2 and T3 were higher than those in control group, and T3 was higher than T1 and T2(P<0.05),there was no difference between T1 and T2(P>0.05),and the feed to gain ratio of T3 was lower than T1,T2 and control group(P<0.05),there was no difference between T1,T2 and control group(P>0.05).(2)Apparent digestibility of nutrients:There were no differences in apparent digestibility of dry matter, calcium and phosphorus among all groups(P>0.05).The apparent digestibility of T3 to crude protein was higher than that of T1,T2 and control group(P<0.05),the apparent digestibility of T3 to acid detergent fiber and neutral detergent fiber was lower than that of T1,T2 and control group(P<0.05),and T1 and T2 were lower than that of control group(P<0.05).The experimental results showed that the addition of rice straw with complex chemical treatment could promote the absorption of nutrients and improve the growth performance of meat sheep, and the effect of rice straw with alkali and ammonia combined chemical treatment was better.
