Effects of fennel straw and chaff on growth performance and mutton flavor of fattening sheep
In order to make full use of fennel by-products(straw and chaff),reduce waste and environmental pollution, the fennel by-products collected were mixed with corn straw in equal proportions and treated with different methods as coarse fodder for feeding Hu sheep. It was studied and analyzed on the effects of different treatment methods on feed intake, daily gain,F/G,and fatty acid content in lamb. The results showed that there were extremely significant differences(P<0.01)or significant differences(P<0.05)in feed intake, daily gain and F/G between the fermentation treatment method of complex microbial straint and other treatment methods.Through the determination of fatty acid content,it was found that the flavour of mutton can be reduced to varying degrees when the lambs eat a certain amount of fennel byproducts.
