Effects of quinoa on growth performance, nutrient digestibility and economic benefit of sheep
In order to study the effects of quinoa straw on the growth performance, nutrient digestibility and economic benefit of sheep,60 sheep with similar body condition were randomly divided into 4 treatments, with CK,T1,T2 and T3 supplemented with 0%,10%,20%and 30%quinoa straw respectively. The results showed that the addition of quinoa straw had no significant effect on the average daily feed intake of sheep, and the average daily gain of sheep of T2 and T3 was significantly higher than that of the control by 10%and 4.1%,respectively(P<0.05),the feed to gain ratio decreased significantly by 8.4%and 4.4%(P<0.05).The digestibility of dry matter, neutral detergent fiber, crude fat and crude protein of sheep treated with different proportions of quinoa straw was not significantly different from that of the control(P>0.05).The digestibility of organic matter and acid detergent fiber of sheep of T2 was significantly higher than that of the control by 10.6%and 12.3%(P<0.05).The daily net profit of sheep of T2 and T3 was significantly higher than that of the control by 13.28%and 6.29%(P<0.05).The above results show that the addition of 20%and 30%quinoa straw can significantly improve the growth performance of sheep, improve the digestibility of nutrients and improve economic benefits, and the best proportion of quinoa straw is 20%.
