To explore the effects of Clostridium butyricum on growth performance, slaughter performance and immune function of Zhuanghe Dagu chickens.A total of 450 one-day-old Zhuanghe Dagu chickens, half male and half female, were randomly divided into 3 groups with 6 replicates per group and 25 chickens per replicate. The control group was fed a basal diet, the experimental group Ⅰ was fed a basal diet+1.5x107 CFU/kg(500 mg/kg)Clostridium butyricum, and the experimental group Ⅱ was fed a basal diet+3x107 CFU/kg(1000 mg/kg).The experiment lasted for 21 days. The results showed as follows:compared with the control group, the average daily feed intake and the ratio of feed to gain of experimental groups were decreased(P>0.05),and the average daily gain of group Ⅱ and body weight of age 21 were highly significantly increased by 11.5%and 18.5%,respectively(P<0.01);Pectoral rates in the test group were significantly increased by 7.7%and 9.5%,respectively,compared with the control group(P<0.05);Compared with the control group, the thymus index and IgG content of Zhuanghe Dagu chickens in test group Ⅱ were significantly higher 17.2%and 78.1%(P<0.01),and the spleen index and bursa index were significantly increased by 11.4%and 50.0%,respectively(P<0.05).Therefore,dietary addition of Clostridium butyricum could improve growth performance, slaughter performance and immune function of Zhuanghe Dagu chickens.
