Calibration of discrete element parameters of extruded feed based on EDEM and study on its crushing mechanism
Since the crushing mechanism of expanded feed is not clear,it is difficult to reduce the crushing rate of expanded feed by optimizing the key structure and operating parameters of processing machinery.Taking expanded feed as the research object,and the discrete element model of the expanded feed is established by using the discrete element modeling software EDEM.Combined with the test and calibration experiment of discrete element bonding parameters(normal stiffness per unit area,shear stiffness per unit area,critical normal stiffness,critical shear stiffness),the critical normal stiffness and critical shear stiffness of the discrete element bonding parameters of granular fish feed were determined to be 10.86 MPa and 2.31 MPa,respectively.The magnitude ranges of normal stiffness per unit area and shear stiffness per unit area were[1010,1011]and[109,1010]respectively;Based on the quadratic orthogonal rotation combination research,the results showed that when the normal stiffness per unit area and the shear stiffness per unit area were 1.52×1010 N/m3 and 4.16×109 N/m3,respectively,the error between the extrusion and shear crushing force of the simulation model and the actual crushing force was within 5%,and the calibration results were reasonable;The analysis results of extrusion feed crushing process showed that the feed sample had a poor ability to withstand shear force and a strong ability to withstand extrusion pressure,but it wowld not produce powder when it was sheared.This study could provide a theoretical reference for the design of extrusion feed processing machinery,the setting of operation parameters and the reduction of extrusion feed crushing rate.
