Research progress on crop straw processing technology and its application in beef cattle production
Straw is an important feed ingredient for beef cattle.After proper processing,it can effectively improve its low nutritional value,poor palatability,difficult to preserve and other shortcomings,so as to improving the growth performance of beef cattle,and reduce the feeding cost.Straw feed is of great significance to protect the environment,and alleviate the problem of food competition between humans and livestock,and promote the development of grain saving ecological animal husbandry.The output and nutrient composition of main crop straw in China,and the processing method of straw feed,and its application effect in beef cattle production were summarized in this paper,moreover,the problems and application prospects of straw feed were analyzed,aimed to provide ideas and references for promoting the development and utilization of straw feed and reducing costs and increasing benefits in beef cattle breeding.
