Eucalyptus essential oil(EEO)is a type of plant essential oil mainly extracted by distillation of Eucalyptus from leaves and branches.EEO has various biological activities,such as antibacterial,anti-inflammatory,and antioxidant effects,and has become a research hotspot in the field of life and natural science,especially in medicine and agriculture.This article reviewed the main chemical characteristics and physiological functions of EEO,as well as its research progress in the application of animal production,providing a reference for the development and application of EEO as feed additives in the field of animal nutrition.
