The effects of different levels of angelica extract in feed on the production performance, serum biochemical indicators, and apparent digestibility of cows
To analyze the effects of different levels of Angelica Extract(AE)in feed on the production performance, serum biochemical indicators, and apparent digestibility of cows.84 lactating cows with similar gestational age and milk production were selected for the experiment.Randomly divide into 4 groups, each with 3 replicates, each with 7 heads. Each group of cows was fed with basic feed according to their nutritional needs, and Angelica extract was added at 0 mg/kg(AE0 group),200 mg/kg(AE200 group),400 mg/kg(AE400 group),and 600 mg/kg(AE600 group),respectively. The pre trial period was 7 days, and the main trial period was 30 days. The results showed that:(1)Compared with the AE0 group, the average daily milk production of the AE400 group increased by 9.08%(P<0.05),and the feed to milk ratio decreased by 8.82%(P<0.05).Compared with the AE0 group, the milk protein rate of the AE200,AE400,and AE600 groups was significantly increased(P<0.05),and the number of somatic cells was significantly reduced(P<0.05).(2)Compared with the AE0 group, the total protein and albumin content in the serum of the AE200,AE400,and AE600 groups were significantly increased(P<0.05).Compared with the AE0 group, the serum low-density lipoprotein cholesterol content in the AE400 and AE600 groups was significantly reduced(P<0.05).(3)Compared with the AE0 group, the apparent digestibility of dry matter and crude protein in the AE200,AE400,and AE600 groups was significantly increased(P<0.05).Compared with the AE0 group, the apparent digestibility of neutral detergent fibers in the AE400 group was significantly increased(P<0.05).Conclusion:Angelica extract has the effect of improving the production performance of cows, improving serum biochemical indicators and apparent digestibility.Under the conditions of this experiment, the appropriate level of addition for Angelica extract is 400 mg/kg.
