Effects of different levels of probiotics on growth performance, nutrient apparent digestibility, and immune indicators in dogs
The aim of this experiment is to investigate the effects of different levels of probiotics on dog growth performance, nutrient apparent digestibility, and immune indicators.Four month old beagles with good health and similar weight were randomly divided into four groups, with six replicates(male and female in half)in each group, with one replicate per group.Add 0,0.05%,0.1%,and 0.2%of composite probiotics to the basic diet as the experimental feed for a total of 64 days. The experimental results showed that, under the premise of consistent initial body weight of all dogs(P>0.05),adding 0.2%compound probiotics to the diet significantly reduced the feed to weight ratio of beagles by 4.5%(P<0.05);The addition of different levels of probiotics to the diet had no significant effect on the final body weight, average daily gain,or average daily gain of beagles(P>0.05).Adding 0.2%compound probiotics to the diet significantly improved the apparent digestibility of dry matter and crude fat in beagles(P<0.05);The addition of 0.1%and 0.2%probiotics significantly increased the apparent digestibility of crude protein in beagles(P<0.05);Adding 0.1%compound probiotics to the diet significantly improved the energy digestibility of beagles(P<0.05);In addition, the addition of different levels of probiotics to the diet had no significant effect on the apparent starch digestibility of beagles(P>0.05).Adding 0.2%compound probiotics to the diet significantly reduced the serum IL-6 content of beagles(P<0.05);The addition of 0.1%and 0.2%probiotics to the diet significantly reduced the serum IL-10 content of beagles(P<0.05);Adding 0.05%~0.2%composite probiotics to the diet significantly reduces serum TNF in beagles-α Content(P<0.05)In addition, the addition of composite probiotics to the diet had an effect on serum IgA,IgM,IgG,and IL-1 levels in beagles β The content had no significant impact(P>0.05).In summary, under the conditions of this experiment, the optimal amount of compound probiotics added to the diet of beagles is 0.2%.
