Leeches are a link animal,with a slightly flattened body length,fast reproduction,most of the characteristics of sucking blood,Chinese medicine believes that it has the effect of breaking blood,stasis,menstruation,high medicinal value.With the development and utilization of leech resources in recent years,its application in the field of clinical medicine has become increasingly extensive.This paper reviewed the chemical composition of leeches and related medicinal effects,aimed to provided theoretical guidance for the scientific and rational application of leeches.
