Analysis of yellow storage quality of corn straw pretreated with rumen anaerobic fungi and methanogen fermentation broth
Anaerobic fungi can degrade lignocellulose, and some methanogens can enhance the degradation ability of anaerobic fungi. To improve the yellow storage quality of corn straw and increase its feeding value, this study pretreated corn stover with the fermentation liquid produced by Cattle-YakTZ1,a co-culture of anaerobic fungi and methanogen(N.frontalis+M.olleyae)from yak cattle for 48 hours, before ensiling, with commercial xylanase as the control group. The results showed that the blank group had poor sensory quality, high DM loss rate, insignificant ADF and NDF degradation effects,pH between 6~7,and serious mold growth after 45 days of fermentation. The control group and experimental group effectively preserved DM during fermentation, significantly reduced NDF and ADF content. The experimental group had significantly higher lactate content than the control group, lower butyrate detected, and significantly higher CP content than the blank group. The pretreatment of corn straw with(N.frontalis+M.olleyae)Cattle-YakTZ1 fermentation broth significantly improved the sensory quality, fermentation characteristics and nutritional composition of the yellow storage.
