Effects of yeast selenium combined with Bacillus subtilis on growth performance, rumen fermentation, and slaughter performance of meat sheep
To investigate the effects of yeast selenium(YS)combined with Bacillus subtilis(BS)on the growth performance, rumen fermentation, and slaughter performance of meat sheep.Sixty Du Han hybrid sheep of similar age and weight were selected for the experiment and randomly divided into four groups, with three replicates in each group and five in each replicate.Among them,CON group meat sheep were fed a basic diet,YS group meat sheep were fed a basic diet+100 mg/kg yeast selenium,BS group meat sheep were fed a basic diet+30 mg/kg Bacillus subtilis,YS+BS group meat sheep were fed a basic diet+100 mg/kg yeast selenium+30 mg/kg Bacillus subtilis. The trial lasted for a total of 72 days, with a pre trial period of 7 days and a trial period of 65 days. The results showed that:(1)Compared with the CON group, the YS+BS group significantly increased the final weight by 5.25%(P<0.05)and the average daily gain by 15.93%(P<0.05).Compared with the CON group, the feed to weight ratio of YS group,BS group, and YS+BS group significantly decreased by 7.18%,6.20%,and 12.72%,respectively(P<0.05).(2)Compared with the CON group and YS group, the rumen pH value of the BS group and YS+BS group significantly decreased(P<0.05),while the acetic acid content and ethylene propylene ratio significantly increased(P<0.05).Compared with the CON group, the rumen ammonia nitrogen concentration in the BS group and YS+BS group significantly increased(P<0.05).(3)Compared with the CON group, the YS+BS group significantly increased the live weight, carcass weight, and eye muscle area before slaughter by 5.38%,7.49%,and 17.37%(P<0.05).It can be seen that yeast selenium combined with Bacillus subtilis can improve the growth performance, rumen fermentation, and slaughter performance of meat sheep.
