Effects of probiotics on growth performance,apparent nutrient digestibility,and economic benefits of meat rabbits
Objective:This experiment aims to investigate the effects of probiotics on the growth performance,apparent nutrient digestibility,and economic benefits of meat rabbits.Method:160 healthy and disease-free 7-week-old rabbits were selected and randomly divided into 4 groups,with 5 replicates in each group and 8 rabbits in each replicate(half male and half female).All four groups of meat rabbits were allocated a basic diet based on the"Nutrient Requirements for Meat Rabbits"(NY/T 4049-2021).Among them,the control group was fed with clean water,while the other three groups were added with 0.5,1.0,and 1.5mL/kg probiotic feed additives in clean water.The pre trial period is 1 week,and the trial period is 4 weeks.During the experiment,all groups of meat rabbits were free to feed and drink water.Result:1)Compared with the control group,the 1.0mL/kg probiotic group significantly increased the final weight of meat rabbits by 4.89%(P<0.05),the average daily weight gain significantly increased by 8.66%(P<0.05),and the feed to weight ratio significantly decreased by 7.98%(P<0.05);Compared with the control group,the 0.5 mL/kg probiotics group,1.0 mL/kg probiotics group,and 1.5 mL/kg probiotics group significantly reduced the diarrhea rate of meat rabbits by 17.43%,52.19%,and 30.48%(P<0.05).2)Compared with the control group,the apparent digestibility of crude protein and crude fat in the 0.5 mL/kg probiotic group,1.0 mL/kg probiotic group,and 1.5mL/kg probiotic group of meat rabbits were significantly increased(P<0.05);Compared with the control group,the apparent digestibility of dry matter in the 1.0 mL/kg probiotic group meat rabbits was significantly increased(P<0.05),and the apparent digestibility of crude fiber and neutral washing fiber in the 1.0mL/kg probiotic group and 1.5 mL/kg probiotic group meat rabbits were significantly increased(P<0.05).3)The weight gain,weight gain income,and gross profit of the 1.0 mL/kg probiotic group were significantly higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).According to calculations,the gross profit of rabbit breeding in each group is 4.69 yuan/animal,5.75 yuan/animal,6.89 yuan/animal,and 5.80 yuan/animal,respectively.Conclusion:Adding appropriate levels of probiotics to drinking water can improve the growth performance,apparent nutrient digestibility,and economic benefits of meat rabbits.Under the conditions of this experiment,the appropriate level of probiotics addition is 1.0 mL/kg.
